💪4 Ways to Build Resilience💪

Let us be honest, we all feel like we are taking a bit of a battering at the moment. Truth be told, in between exam prep, hearing about the rising cost of living, and having only a few months ago come out of a major and disruptive pandemic are we surprised that many of us are struggling?

We can feel like we keep getting punched in the face and knocking us right back.

That is why it is important to think about our circle of influence and our circle of control, to learn those healthy coping strategies to help us move past the bumps in the road and recover better, stronger and quicker.

1.   ⭐️ WHO DO YOU HAVE IN YOUR TRIBE? ⭐️

It is important to surround yourself with people who you can rely on, that support, respect and care for you. It is about quality over quantity. It is those people that when you are at your lowest can help bring you up. In a time when we are chasing as many followers as possible on social media and feeling we need external validation that is when we need to press pause. If you look at the most successful people in the world, they do not have tonnes of people in their close circle they have a small tribe that has their back.

2.    ⭐️CREATE YOUR VISION⭐️

If the road were straight and narrow life would be pretty boring. The thing is we will have moments when we are thriving but also moments when we feel rejected or deflated. A classic can be not getting into your first choice of university or getting that promotion or job that we wanted. So, it is about setting yourself some goals that realistic but also challenging. The key is to write them down or create a vision board and put them on there. We are all born with the innate ability to thrive and succeed, what sets us apart is the way in which we learn to bounce back and keep going following a disappointment. Nothing is permanent and you can overcome the hard bumps in the road.

3.    ⭐️ FORMING GOOD HABITS⭐️

How can you start with small steps to create those good habits? It can be as small as making your bed every day, meditating for 5 mins a day, drinking 6 glasses of water a day or writing 3 positive things a day. We get so caught up in trying to turn a new leaf instantly, which never has lasting impact, so it is worth forming some small manageable good habits.

4.    ⭐️BELIEVE IN YOURSELF⭐️

In a world of 7 billion people – you are the only one of you. There is no one with the exact duplicated DNA or whose mind and inner being is as you are. That is to be celebrated! We compare ourselves to others so much but forget that others may be looking to us and envying us for a feature we have that they do not. Our limiting beliefs are the only thing holding us back, not anyone else. Being kind to yourself, celebrating who you are and reminding yourself every day – “You are enough” will influence your sub conscious which ignites the rest of your mind and body to react and that is where the magic will happen.  It is okay to have a moment when you may feel you are doubting yourself but remember you have the innate ability to work things out, to survive and if you need help then reach out because there is always a friend out there that will help you believe in yourself when you are having a hard day believing in yourself!
