You may have heard of the buzz word FOMO which is now often dropped when someone feels they are going to miss out on something. FOMO stands for Fear of Missing Out.

The awareness we need when we are thinking about FOMO is how much it can increase stress or cause us to not have boundaries which protect our wellbeing.

FOMO can possibly lead us to overextend ourselves, even lead to burnout or being overwhelmed.

There are also other things associated to FOMO which can lead to your mental health being impacted. This could be constantly being on social media, so reiterating the messaging that you are missing out on life where others seem to be showing this “perfect” life that you may not have.

Remember, nothing is always entirely what it seems. What we can forget is that it is only a snapshot, a reel of what the person wants to show, not the entire story of what their life is like.

When you are having moments of FOMO here are some tips you could do to focus on yourself.
