Exploring your emotions

It may seem a bit of a childish exercise but bear with us.

We were never taught how to process our emotions; we were often taught to either suppress them or park them but not often told to explore them.

We can struggle to understand our emotions.

We may ask why we need to process them or even discussing emotions in this context. Unresolved emotions can impact our physical and mental wellbeing and can lead to more serious conditions.

To change things up from our usual types of content we have an exercise which you can do at your leisure but one to encourage you to try something different.

How often do you take the time to really think about your feelings, what about in these scenarios?

Can you recognise these emotions?

How do you feel when it is your birthday?

How do you feel when it rains?

How do you feel when someone hugs you?

How do you feel when you have a nightmare?

It is important to pay attention to your emotions. Do not try to hold your feelings but identify and express them in the best way for you.
