We’re delighted to announce that Govox is to sponsor Akuma Beavers’ men and women’s rugby squads throughout the next season.

The club, founded in 2009, considers itself a social sevens team, but has big ambitions for high-standard competitive rugby – and we’re proud to accompany the players on their journey.

Via the Govox wellbeing platform, players and staff members will be invited to check in online and confide information about their thoughts and feelings at that time. They’ll be given the opportunity to answer questions about their wellbeing, with coaches and managers then able to step in quickly and offer support where needed.

Jonathan Bentley, chief marketing officer at Govox, said of the sponsorship: "Govox is delighted to sponsor the Akuma Beavers men and women’s squads this season. We wish them the very best of luck on the pitch, but for us it is supporting the player’s mental health off the pitch that matters most.

“We know through our experiences in local rugby, that providing young players with the right tools and experience to support each other is an increasingly important part of team culture, performance and player management. Our wellbeing platform will support all their players and coaches all year round."

Meanwhile, Akuma Beavers’ commercial director Alex Mackie commented: "As we enter our sixth season as the Akuma Beavers, we now have over 80 affiliated players across two teams, based all over the country. Our core values include raising money for our chosen charity, playing hard and having a lot of fun along the way in an environment where everyone is made to feel welcome and comfortable to be themselves.

“This is why we are so excited to partner with Govox, as we look to improve the well-being of our members and their families, on and off the rugby pitch as we utilise their platform and tools for our squads."

We’re thrilled to be supporting the wellbeing of the Beavers and looking forward to a great season ahead.
